is a great domed pink building situated in Downtown Cairo on the north side of Midan Tahrir, it has a fascinating treasures of Tutankhamun and other magnificent historical graves of the pharaohs, jewellery, mummies, Egyptian’s toys and eating bowls, after the opening of the museum Tutankhamun’s enormous trove and the tomb contents of Tanis were unearthed, some monuments are being moved to the Grand Egyptian Museum and some rooms are being refurbished and the objects are being rearranged in the museum but The Egyptian Museum will remain a major sight in the Egyptian history.
was broken into during the 2011 revolution as a few artefacts went missing so activists formed a safeguard around the building to assure guarding its contents.
