The Great Giza Sphinx
The Great Sphinx is the most famous sculpture in the world and the oldest and longest stone sculpture from the old kingdom, it’s 240 feet (73 metres) long and 66 feet (20 metres) high, also located near the Great Pyramid, it was carved during the reign of Khafre, Sphinx represents Ra-Horakhty with a lion's body and a human head with a royal headdress as a form of the powerful sun god, during the 18 Dynasty it was symbol of the royal power and the protector of the temple doors so it was named "Horus of the Horizon" and "Horus of the Necropolis".
